Please read these Terms of Service ("Terms") carefully before using QR Code Builder.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using QR Code Builder (the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not use the Service. These Terms apply to all visitors, users, and others who access or use the Service.

2. Description of Service

QR Code Builder provides a free online platform for generating, customizing, and downloading QR codes. The Service includes:

  • Static QR code generation for URLs, text, WiFi, vCards, email, phone, SMS, and location data
  • QR code customization (colors, shapes, sizes)
  • Pre-designed QR code templates
  • Multiple export formats (PNG, SVG)
  • A REST API for programmatic QR code generation
  • Dynamic QR codes with scan analytics (where available)

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied.

3. User Obligations and Acceptable Use

By using the Service, you agree to:

  • Use the Service only for lawful purposes and in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations
  • Not generate QR codes that link to malicious, harmful, illegal, or fraudulent content
  • Not attempt to overwhelm, disrupt, or impair the Service through excessive automated requests or denial-of-service attacks
  • Not reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the Service
  • Not use the Service to distribute malware, viruses, or other harmful software
  • Not impersonate any person or entity or misrepresent your affiliation
  • Not use the Service for spam, phishing, or other deceptive practices
  • Comply with all rate limits and usage restrictions

4. Rate Limits and Fair Use

To ensure fair access for all users, the Service enforces the following rate limits:

  • QR Code Generation: 30 requests per minute per IP address
  • Bulk Generation: 5 requests per hour per IP address (max 100 codes per batch)
  • API Access: Subject to API key rate limits (default: 100 requests per minute)
  • File Uploads: 10 uploads per minute, max 2MB per file

Exceeding these limits may result in temporary or permanent restrictions on your access to the Service.

5. Intellectual Property

5.1 Our Property

The Service, including its design, code, content, logos, and trademarks, is owned by QR Code Builder and is protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works of any part of the Service without our prior written consent.

5.2 Your Content

You retain all rights to the content you use to generate QR codes. By using the Service, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive license to process your content solely for the purpose of generating QR codes. We do not claim ownership of any content you provide.

5.3 Generated QR Codes

QR codes generated through the Service are yours to use for any lawful purpose. You may use them commercially, print them, share them, or embed them in your materials without attribution to QR Code Builder.

6. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED ON AN "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" BASIS. WE EXPRESSLY DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, OR STATUTORY, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO THE IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

We do not warrant that:

  • The Service will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error-free
  • The results obtained from the Service will be accurate or reliable
  • Any errors in the Service will be corrected
  • Generated QR codes will be scannable under all conditions

7. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, QR CODE BUILDER SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, USE, OR GOODWILL, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE.

Our total liability for all claims arising from the use of the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid to us (if any) in the twelve months preceding the claim.

8. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless QR Code Builder and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses arising out of or related to your use of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any rights of a third party.

9. Modifications to the Service

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time without prior notice. We shall not be liable to you or any third party for any modification, suspension, or discontinuation of the Service.

10. Termination

We may terminate or suspend your access to the Service immediately, without prior notice or liability, for any reason, including if you breach these Terms. Upon termination, your right to use the Service will immediately cease.

11. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable laws, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising from these Terms or the use of the Service shall be resolved through binding arbitration or in the courts of competent jurisdiction.

12. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision shall be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.

13. Changes to These Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last Updated" date. Your continued use of the Service after any changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.
